On 10th March Glasgow City Council’s public consultation began on its proposal to build a single new school building on the site of the main building to replace the current main building and annex. The full details of the proposal and public consultation can be found at www.glasgow.gov.uk/schoolconsultations . Responses to this consultation can be done on line via that link. The deadline for responses is 12th May 2014.
Pupils brought home information on 10th March which included a “response document” from GCC asking for your views on the new-build proposals. We would encourage parents to complete this form or submit their responses on line, as the more responses the Council receive, the stronger our voice will be. Issues that you may wish to raise in your response might relate to the decant process to Ladywell School, to the proposed new building and facilities, and/or to the principle of consolidating the school in one building on one site.
Possible issues that you may wish to consider in your response to the Council are outlined in our flyer.
A link to the Council’s most recent plans for the new school can be found on the Broomhill Community Council website.
The council held a public meeting as part of the consultation on 25th March. If you didn’t get a chance to speak out at the meeting, or if you were unable to attend and have questions or concerns, please contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org). We are here to represent parent views but we can only do that if we know what they are!
