Alastair Dalton’s Inside Transport column on Broomhill, as featured in The Scotsman

Alastair Dalton, a member of the FET and Transport Correspondent of The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday, has written a very interesting piece on the opportunity to curb the school run.  This is particularly relevant to Broomhill where two sites will come together at the new school building in January and the need to manage traffic congestion, with it the associated risks of increased road-safety problems and health-threatening vehicle emissions.

Glasgow City Council has established a new road safety group to adopt a holistic approach, involving officials from a range of departments such as engineering as well as education.

Broomhill could and should be its first success story – so much so that other traffic-choked schools in the city and across Scotland beat a path there, eager to find out what they can do to follow suit.
