Help needed at Broomhill school 2pm on Saturday

Can you spare an hour this Saturday to help clear out Broomchill?

It’s the end of an era at Broomhill Primary School. Many of our children will be decanted now to Ladywell and for the older kids this will be the end of their education on this site. For the younger pupils however they will still be in the annexe for at least another 18 months.

Some parents will be meeting in Broomchill (the garden (overgrown) in the corner of the red ash pitch in the main building). We hope to be able to save what we can from Broomchill and to transport it to the Annexe for the existing annexe kids and the next generations of Broomhill pupils.

Andy Murray opened Broomchill in2009 but sadly he has a busy schedule tomorrow.

We are meeting at 2pm and envisage being there for an hour or two depending on numbers.

Bring old clothes and any tools which may be useful. Wheelbarrows may be of value especially. Bear in mind that there will probably be some compost you can relocate to your own gardens (and some old decking if anyone wants it).

Useful tools would be, shovels, hammers, screwdrivers, old chisels or crowbars (to remove the wooden fencing ) and saws.

This area is intended to be the site office for the newbuild so we need to do this before the contractors move onto (and secure) the site.

Hope to see some of you there. Kids welcome of course although it would probably be better for them to stay out of Broomchill and to play on the pitches.

Hope to see you there.
